MadLab : Mike Iurato

Michael Iurato was born and raised in a Boxing family. From Golden Gloves, Diamond Gloves and The Army Boxing Team. Michael’s father, a printer who started his business out of his basement, would work late hours and needed to captivate his son’s mind for a few hours so he can get his work done. He had a room in the house that he labeled “The Boxing Room”. The room contained memorabilia but most importantly an extensive video library of the greatest fighters and fights ever displayed in history.

While other kids were watching cartoons and doing school work, Michael Became so fascinated with boxing that he spent the majority of his time watching the greatest men to ever lace them up. His father took a hard look at this and began taking him to gyms to sit on the apron at a very young age, where he would become engulfed even further into this flame he had for fighting.

As time went on his father began training him and showed him the nuances of the science. As he got older he began educating himself on different styles and methods realizing that there was so much more to this art than just throwing hands. It truly was a science.

On November 12, 1993, he watched UFC1 and stumbled upon a fighting form that was as much as a Human Chess match as boxing was but only on the ground. It was called Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The fascination then continued on a much different and more educational level at this point.

He went on to study Exercise Science, Kinesiology and Human Development in which would really help him tie everything together in both mental and mechanics of both worlds. He knew that his path wasn’t to be a fighter, he knew getting into a cage or a ring to fight for money was really nothing he was interested in doing from a financial standpoint and a physically taxing stand point. However, he knew he had something that many people just didn’t have and that is a very firm understanding of nutrition, how the body actually moves and the art of fighting.

He went on to help with blue printing camps, weight cutting programs, Matchup analysis and Film work for Boxing, MMA and ADCC competitors. a decade ago Michael was presented an opportunity to partner up in the Fantasy Sporting world to bring his knowledge and expertise to a space with MMA DFS that was not really getting the traction it truly deserved. His fight breakdowns, analysis and his strong attention to detail would knock down new walls within the MMA Community.

His scientific approach to the fight game earned him the name “MadLab” and would later be looked to as the #1 MMA DFS provider in the MMA space. MadLab has been featured on numerous media outlets such as SiriusXM radio, Grappling Magazine and numerous outlets worldwide for his insight. With a track record of 70% and a proven ability to win millions of dollars for his subscribers, MadLab is now looking to break down new walls and take things a step farther with TheMadLabMMA.com.
